Homemade potato lokše are a traditional delicacy that you can prepare easily and quickly. This recipe brings the taste of childhood and the aroma of our grandmothers’ kitchens. They are great for festive lunches as well as a quick treat for ordinary days.

- Cooking the potatoes: Cook the potatoes in their skins in salted water. After cooking, let them cool, peel them and grate finely on a grater.
- Preparing the dough: Salt the grated potatoes to taste and add the plain flour. Work into a smooth dough, then shape it into a roll. Divide the roll into approximately 15 equal pieces.
- Shaping and rolling: Roll each piece of dough on a floured surface into a thin circle about 1–2 mm thick.
- Cooking the lokše: Lightly prick the rolled lokše with a fork and dry-fry in a pan or on a grill on both sides until they acquire a golden color.
- Serving: Lokše are excellent as a side dish to roasted goose and stewed cabbage. For a sweet version you can spread them with plum jam or sprinkle with ground poppy seeds and sugar.
