Preparation procedure
- First of all, we warm 2 deciliters of milk and add a heaped tablespoon of sugar and let it dissolve.
- When the sugar has dissolved, we add the two cubes of yeast and leave until a sponge (yeast starter) forms.
- Next, we sift the flour into a larger bowl. We add the oil and the remaining milk, the salt, and the sponge.
- Then we mix this mixture with our hands to form a dough and let it rise in a warm place.
- For example, in the sun outside or in the oven and set it to 30 degrees.
- When the dough has risen, we start tearing off individual pieces into smaller pieces and shape them into balls in our hands as you can see in the picture.
- There should be approximately 35–40 pieces.
- Roll out each ball.
- Then roll it into the shape of a roll, exactly as you see in the picture below.
- Grease the baking tray with oil and place baking paper on it.
- Then lightly oil the surface of the paper where we will place the rolls, but very minimally.
- Then leave them to rise for a few more minutes.
- We can also brush the rolls with oil or beaten egg.
- Then we can, but don't have to, add extra seasoning.
- Preheat the oven to 220 degrees and bake for approx. 10–12 minutes.
- When we take them out of the oven, we put a damp cloth over them for a few minutes so they remain moist even the next day.
