Preparation procedure

  • Put the softened butter into a bowl, add the powdered sugar and whip until light and fluffy.
  • Gradually fold the ground biscuits, ground walnuts and grated coconut into the butter mixture.
  • Pour in the rum and mix thoroughly to form a compact, easily shapeable mass.
  • Take small pieces from the prepared mixture, press a cherry into the center of each and shape into a ball.
  • Roll the finished rum balls in grated coconut or ground walnuts.
  • For better flavor and texture, let them rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
