  • In a bowl, mix 75 g of sugar, baking powder, vanilla sugar, flour and oil. Pour in 75 ml of water and work into a smooth dough.
  • Divide the dough into two parts – one larger and one smaller. Roll out the larger portion and place it into a greased baking pan.
  • Evenly spread the grated apples over the dough, sprinkle them with cinnamon and the remaining sugar (75 g).
  • Grate the smaller portion of dough on a coarse grater and sprinkle it over the apples. Brush the surface with a beaten egg yolk.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for approximately 30 minutes, until the cake turns golden.
