Preparation procedure

  • Dough preparation: In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, honey, eggs, egg yolk, melted butter and baking soda. Work into a smooth dough and roll out on a floured surface to a sheet 2–3 mm thick. Cut out circles about 7 cm in diameter. Transfer them to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 180 °C for about 8 minutes, until golden. Let cool.
  • Vanilla cream: Use the milk, Zlatý klas, sugar and vanilla sugar to cook a thick pudding. After cooking, cover the surface with food-grade plastic wrap and let cool. Meanwhile, whip the butter until light and gradually beat the cooled pudding into it by spoonfuls.
  • Whipped cream: Whip the chilled cream with the powdered sugar and Smeta-fix into a firm, airy whipped cream.
  • Filling the rounds: On half of the rounds, first spread the vanilla cream and then the whipped cream on top. Cover with the second half of the round. Let the dessert rest in the refrigerator for several hours (ideally overnight) so the rounds soften and the flavors meld. Before serving, you can dust them with powdered sugar.
