Preparation procedure
- Dough preparation: In a bowl, mix the flour, Hera margarine, lard, sugar, egg, yolk and ground nuts until a dense, smooth dough forms.
- Dough resting: Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours so the flavors can meld.
- Preparing the molds: Prepare paw molds that must be dry and clean. You can lightly grease the molds if you're not sure the dough will release easily.
- Filling the molds: After resting, start filling the molds with dough. Make sure they are well filled but not overfilled.
- Baking: Place the molds in an oven preheated to 170 °C and bake until the paws turn golden (about 12–15 minutes).
- Cooling and unmolding: After baking, let the paws cool slightly. They should then unmold easily from the molds.
- Final step: Roll the finished honey paws in powdered sugar to give them a lovely sweet coating.
