Preparation procedure

  • Put the strawberries, water and leaves into a pot, bring to a boil and let boil for 10 minutes
  • Then strain through a cloth and squeeze thoroughly
  • Add the sugar and citric acid to the juice from the strawberries and leaves and boil for another approx. 8–10 minutes
  • Fill through cheesecloth into bottles, ideally liquor bottles, and cork them

From this quantity we have 1.5l of perfect homemade syrup.

I mostly fill it into liquor bottles — do not rinse them.

After a while it may begin to gel a little, but just shake the bottle and it is perfect again.

We use it for lemonades and for sweetening like a classic syrup.
