Preparation procedure

  • From some of the warm milk, a little sugar and the yeast, prepare a yeast starter and let it rise for 10–15 minutes.
  • Sift the flour into a bowl, add the remaining sugar, the egg, melted butter, oil, salt, the starter and the rest of the milk. Work into a smooth dough and let it rise until it doubles in volume.
  • Roll the dough out to a thickness of 5–7 mm, cut into 10×10 cm squares, place the filling in the center, wrap and place seam-side down on a greased baking tray. Brush the buns with oil, let them rise briefly once more and bake for 20–30 minutes at 180–200 °C until golden.
  • Prepare the filling by mixing all the ingredients for the quark mixture.
  • After baking, brush the buns with oil, let cool and dust with powdered sugar.
