No more buying doughnuts that don’t always have enough filling – now you can fill them to your liking and to the taste of every family member. This is the ideal recipe for homemade doughnuts that are also more affordable and tastier than the store-bought ones.

Preparation procedure

  • In a bowl mix the lukewarm milk, water, sugar and yeast. Let the mixture stand for 10 minutes.
  • Add the eggs, melted butter and flour and knead into a smooth dough.
  • Cover the bowl with a cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place.
  • After rising, roll the dough out to about 3 mm thick and cut out circles using a glass with a diameter of 8-10 cm.
  • Put a tablespoon of jam or Nutella on each circle.
  • Cover with another circle and press the edges firmly together so they seal.
  • Transfer all the doughnuts to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover with a cloth and let them rise for another 35 minutes.
  • Then bake in a preheated oven at 170°C until golden (about 15-20 minutes).
  • You can also fry the doughnuts in oil, but baking is a healthier alternative.
  • After baking, brush the doughnuts with melted butter.
  • Let them cool and then sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Total preparation time: approximately 2 hours (including rising)
