Preparation procedure

  • First prepare a yeast starter from half a cube of yeast, 1 tsp sugar and 1 tsp flour.
  • Also pour in a little lukewarm milk (the rest will go into the dough). Mix the yeast with the flour and sugar.
  • Place the bowl on a warm radiator.
  • Add the risen starter to the sifted flour with 1 tsp salt. Instead of butter I used my homemade pork lard – 30 grams. Work into a uniform dough.
  • Immediately after mixing, transfer the dough to the work surface.
  • On a floured surface divide the dough into individual portions. Shape a ball from each portion .
  • Roll each piece of dough as thinly as possible into a triangle. Roll the dough up into a crescent.
  • I placed the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • On the baking sheet I brushed them with milk, sprinkled with coarse sea salt and flax seeds.
  • I heated the oven to 200 degrees. I put a stainless steel bowl with water into the oven, to create steam.
  • Bake for 20 minutes and it's done
