Coffee buttercream is a little treasure for Christmas cookies and desserts – a thin layer is enough and the flavor does all the work. 150 g softened butter
150 g powdered sugar
1–2 tablespoons instant coffee
1–2 tablespoons hot water

Preparation procedure

Pour hot water over the instant coffee and stir thoroughly until it is completely dissolved. Let it cool completely. This step is essential to prevent the buttercream from separating.
Cut the softened butter into smaller pieces and place in a bowl. Add the powdered sugar and beat for 5–7 minutes, until the mixture is light, smooth and fluffy. For an airier texture, beat at a lower speed for a longer time.
Add the cooled coffee teaspoon by teaspoon, beating briefly after each addition. Never add all the coffee at once, otherwise the buttercream may split.
Place the finished cream in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes to firm up slightly. Then it is ready for filling cookies or for use in desserts.
