- First, in a larger pot, mix the sugar with the water.
- Over low heat, stir until the sugar has completely dissolved and begins to turn brown.
- Add the butter, stir it and let it melt completely.
- Pour in the milk and keep stirring.
- Finally, sprinkle the powdered milk into the caramel and stir so that no lumps remain. Cook for about 5 minutes and then remove from the heat.
- Let it cool a little and you can pour the caramel into preserving jars.
- Store the caramel in the refrigerator.
