Preparation procedure

  • Baking the base Preheat the oven to 160 °C (fan). In a bowl, whisk the eggs with the sugar until pale and frothy, gradually whisk in the oil. Sift the flour with the cocoa and baking powder, fold in gently. Pour the batter into a greased or paper-lined baking tray (30 × 40 cm). Bake for 18–20 minutes, remove and allow to cool completely.
  • Preparing the cream In a saucepan bring 600 ml of the milk with the sugar to a boil. In the remaining 150 ml, whisk in the powder from both puddings and pour into the boiling milk; stirring constantly, cook for 2–3 minutes. Let the pudding cool slightly (to lukewarm) and gradually whisk in the soft butter until a smooth cream forms.
  • Assembling the dessert Spread a thin layer of jam over the cooled base. Peel the bananas and slice into rounds, cover the entire surface with them. Spread the vanilla cream and smooth evenly.
  • Chocolate glaze Prepare according to the instructions on the package and pour over the surface of the cake. Smooth with a spatula.
  • Chilling and cutting Let the dessert chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours (ideally overnight) so the glaze and cream set. Cut into 20 – 24 portions with a sharp knife wiped between slices.
