It often happens that you are not expecting any visitors and suddenly have to host several people. They want to chat with you over a cup of tea or coffee and you have nothing to offer? This banana cake can save you. It doesn’t need to be baked and its preparation won’t take longer than 20 minutes.

You don’t have to spend the whole day baking in the kitchen

This recipe for a quick and delicious cake will come in handy whenever an unexpected guest arrives. It will certainly please as a sweet gift that doesn’t require much effort. Everyone will praise you for this dessert. Prepare:

  • 500 g sour cream (or homemade yogurt)
  • 500 g unsalted biscuits
  • 250 g sugar
  • 4 large bananas
  • 100 g chocolate

First, whip the sour cream with the sugar. Slice the bananas into thin rounds. Add the unsalted biscuits or crackers. Arrange them in the pan in several layers to form a smooth base.

On top add the sour cream with sugar. The next layer will be banana, then add crackers again and pour sour cream over, and repeat the layers until the ingredients are used up. Crush any leftover biscuits and combine them with the chocolate. Decorate the cake with the chocolate and then place it in the refrigerator for 60 – 90 minutes. Slice into individual portions before serving. The cake will be perfect with an afternoon coffee or tea.

You can make various cakes and tortes from bananas

You can use bananas not only for a no-bake cake but also to prepare the Mole cake (Krtkův dort), where banana is a basic ingredient. Besides this fruit you will need oil, eggs, cocoa, granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, and baking powder. For the cream prepare chocolate, vanilla sugar, lemon juice and whipping cream.

The filling will be the bananas. You can make it either as a classic cake or on a baking tray. First whip the eggs with the sugar. Add the oil and finally the flour. After mixing, add the cocoa and the baking powder. Pour the batter onto a tray and bake for about 7 – 8 minutes at 200 degrees. Grate the chocolate finely, add the vanilla sugar and lemon juice to the cream. Add the grated chocolate to the cream and let it set in the fridge. Slice the bananas into rounds, place them into the batter that you hollowed out around the edges of the base. Spread the whipped cream over it and sprinkle with crumbled dough.
