Who wouldn’t know and love the famous Napoleon cake? It is delicious, light and unmatched in flavor. Children love it, but adults do too. If you are afraid you won’t manage it, we can assure you that you are mistaken. It is simple and many times better than the store-bought one. Take a little time for this treat and you certainly won’t regret it. You don’t need a large amount of ingredients to prepare it and your taste buds will experience an explosion of flavor. This is an excellent version of Napoleon that you absolutely must try!   

Napoleon Cake

To prepare the cake you will need ingredients that we all commonly have at home. And this is exactly what is unique and perfect about the Napoleon cake. It shows us that you don’t need lots of expensive ingredients to enjoy it – really a little is enough and you will enjoy it.

  • Puff pastry biscuits 800 grams
  • Milk 1 liter
  • Eggs 4 pieces
  • Butter 150 grams
  • Sugar ½ cup
  • Plain flour 6 tablespoons
  • Vanilla sugar

First the cream, it is the base

As all housewives surely know, the basis of every cake is to bake a sponge or another kind of base. With the Napoleon cake it’s different and much easier. For the cream it will be enough if you mix all the ingredients in a pot. That means you pour the milk into the pot, then the eggs, sugar, flour and then vanilla sugar or vanilla aroma. Turn on the stove and heat the cream. Stir constantly, and as soon as the cream starts to thicken, stir for at least another minute. Remove the thick cream from the heat and take a second pot to help – a larger one which you will fill with cold water. Place the saucepan with the cream into it and stir so that the cream cools slightly. Once the cream is slightly cooled, it must still be sufficiently warm so that the butter will melt in it. Again thoroughly mix the butter with the cream and let it cool completely. 

Final stage

When the cream is ready, take a cake tin and spread it over the entire bottom with the cream. Place the biscuits on the cream and repeat this procedure. Layer until you have used all the ingredients. The top should be cream, which you can decorate with crispy almond flakes or crushed biscuits.
