An ideal dinner is healthy, quick and tasty. This recipe for a small French mug pizza will amaze you with its simplicity, versatility and the speed with which you can prepare it at home. It contains lots of vegetables, protein and delicious cheese. And what’s more, you won’t dirty almost any dishes, so cleaning worries disappear. What will you need for one serving?

  • A teaspoon of butter
  • One egg
  • One and a half tablespoons of milk
  • A pinch of salt and ground pepper
  • Two tablespoons of grated cheese
  • A slice of bread cut into smaller pieces

How to prepare the pizza?

Put the butter into a small mug and place it in the microwave for a moment to melt. Spread it along the sides of the mug. Then crack the egg into the mug, add the milk, salt and pepper. Next, add the filling of your choice into the mug. It can be frozen vegetables, onion, spinach, tomatoes, pepper or anything you have at home and like.

Mix all the ingredients thoroughly. Finally add the cheese and the bread cut into cubes. Put the entire mug into the microwave and let it bake for three to four minutes. When the egg is well cooked, take out the mug and carefully run a knife around the edges of the French pizza so it can be easily knocked out from the mug onto a plate. You can sprinkle more cheese on top if you like.

Don’t be afraid to try other fillings

With the filling you can of course experiment to suit your taste. It will taste great with sliced sausage or a frankfurter, or with smoked tofu or marinated tempeh. Don’t be afraid to experiment with spices either. Try incorporating Herbes de Provence or thyme. If you don’t have bread available, you can also bake a classic dough in the mug.

Mix some flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder. Mix thoroughly, add a little oil and milk. You’ll get a dough on which you can then place any filling you like. Don’t skimp on the flour, but there shouldn’t be more than half a mug of it. You can also spread tomato sauce on the dough before filling.
