Persons who do not comply with the state-ordered mandatory quarantine may be reported to the regional public health authority according to the person’s place of residence. If the suspected person is confirmed to be ill, the authority will inform the police and the infected person will thus face imprisonment of varying lengths, from one to ten years. This was reported by the Police of the Czech Republic on social media.

If a person who does not respect quarantine measures is confirmed to have Covid-19, the relevant regional public health authority will submit a motion to the competent law enforcement authorities in the matter of suspicion of committing the crime of spreading a dangerous contagious human disease,” explains the police.

The police also recommends following the pages of the Public Health Office of the Slovak Republic or national media, which continuously inform who is required to undergo mandatory quarantine. As of March 12 at 12:00, these were citizens who had returned in recent days from Italy, Iran, China and South Korea.
