Prepare ginger this way and prevent cancer, rheumatism and high cholesterol

In ancient times ginger was used in the treatment of many ailments, from an upset stomach and the flu to rheumatic joint diseases.

Today research shows that ginger also acts effectively in several modern illnesses such as cancer or a high level of blood cholesterol.

Ginger on its own has great medicinal effects. If you want to enhance them even more, you can prepare a fermented drink from it that our grandmothers already knew.

The only things you need to make fermented ginger are a few basic items and a little patience.

Ginger is usually suitable for everyone, including children, if they do not mind its spicy taste. Only these 4 groups of people, which we wrote about in another article, should avoid it.

Ingredients

You will need the following:

  • 2 liters of water
  • 1 large preserving jar (for example from pickles)
  • 100 to 130 grams of sugar (6 to 8 tablespoons), preferably brown cane sugar
  • 1 piece of ginger root about 8 to 10 cm long
  • 1 to 2 dl of water kefir (can also be classic milk kefir)

Preparation method

1. Pour the water into a large pot and bring it to a boil.

2. After the water boils, add the grated ginger, reduce the heat, cover with a lid and let it simmer for about 3 minutes.

3. After simmering, turn off the heat, add the sugar to the pot and stir until it is all dissolved. Let the drink cool.

4. Then, after it has cooled to room to slightly warm temperature, pour the entire contents of the pot into a large, well-sterilized (washed) preserving jar.

5. Add the kefir, stir and close the jar with cheesecloth or fabric, fastening it to the neck with a rubber band to keep insects out.

6. In a warm place, let the infusion stand for about 1 week.

7. After a week, strain the contents of the jar into bottles – preferably glass, but plastic can also be used.

8. Close the bottles and leave them closed for a few more days so that carbon dioxide forms in them, which will give the drink a sparkle.

Use

Consume the drink as often as you like.

For prevention of various illnesses it is sufficient to drink 1 glass of the drink daily, or every other day.

In the case of an illness, such as arthritis, high cholesterol, the flu or a cold, you can increase the dose to 2 to 3 glasses per day.
