When a woman yearns for a baby, often her body gives many signals that let her know for sure that in nine months she will become a mother. These signals often appear much earlier than, for example, a pregnancy test can detect that a woman is pregnant.
However, for a woman to notice these signals, she should know her body well; only then will she recognize that something is “different” than before. Among the main symptoms of pregnancy, a delayed period is no longer the only sign.
Sore breasts
Sore breasts are a very common symptom. This is because breast tissue is very sensitive to hormone levels in the body and reacts to any change. In some women, however, sensitive and sore breasts appear already during ovulation, but if the pain persists, it is clear that your efforts have paid off.
Cramps
The beginning of pregnancy can be accompanied by unpleasant cramps in the lower abdomen that resemble menstrual cramps. This is because the fertilized egg attaches to the uterus, which itself begins preparing for the whole pregnancy process.
Fatigue
Many women reported that the beginnings of pregnancy were physically very demanding for them. Mainly because they felt unusually tired all the time and even ordinary daily activities exhausted them. It should be remembered that a new life is growing inside us, which requires a lot of energy.
Nipple color
Once the body realizes that a new life is beginning in our uterus, this can also show on our breasts, more precisely on the nipples and their coloring. Pregnancy hormones can affect the cells in the nipples, namely melanocytes, which influence nipple color. During pregnancy our nipples may be darker than they were before.
Nausea
Morning sickness simply belongs to pregnancy and occurs in up to 85% of all pregnant women. But this morning sickness appears only a few weeks later. We now mean light nausea, for example from car rides, from perfume, when reading in a car, and with other activities that previously never bothered you.
Spotting
Many women assume that this changed spotting is a period, but that is not entirely true. Spotting can appear 10 to 14 days after the fertilization of the egg, because the fertilized egg implanted in our uterus. However, occasional spotting can also occur in later months of pregnancy; it is not unusual.
Bloating
The unpleasant feeling of bloating can be caused by increased progesterone levels, which slow the digestive system and make our belly look like a balloon; this also happens during menstruation. So if you feel bloated and your period hasn’t arrived when it should have, it’s time to visit your gynecologist.
Headache
To begin, it’s good to note that headaches will subside after a while. They are caused by the increased blood volume, which is a normal thing in the early weeks of pregnancy.
Mood changes
This last point is basically a summary of all the points mentioned above. When your breasts, lower abdomen, and head hurt and you feel tired and bloated, who would constantly be in a good mood, right?
