Many people believe that you cannot drink even a drop of alcohol while losing weight. But that’s not so. “But you can’t drink, you’ll lose weight and stay healthy.” You certainly can! Wine is not only full of antioxidants (which are healthy!), but it can also actually help your weight loss goals. Science says so!
Resveratrol in wine may help with weight loss
According to researchers’ studies, there is a chemical in wine called resveratrol that can prevent your body’s fat cells from gaining more fat. Resveratrol has been shown to turn white fat into “beige fat”, which is much easier to burn and less likely to accumulate in your body. Resveratrol can also reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes and cancer and slow aging.
Another study by researchers at a Danish university supports these findings after discovering that people who drink wine daily tend to have a slimmer waist than those who don’t. The study also found that wine can suppress your appetite and help you avoid cravings for sweets and overeating.
Two glasses of wine a day can help reduce the risk of obesity by 70 percent
When to drink wine?
It is best to drink wine in the evening hours because it can reduce late-night cravings and the need to keep feeling full.
What if you don’t like wine or don’t drink alcohol
You can get similar benefits from grape juice and grapes. Blueberries, raspberries and apples also have this magical fat component, resveratrol, which helps your waist stay slim.
