Although fruit is very healthy for the body, there are combinations that can cause you unpleasant health complications.
Some studies have shown that if you consume more than two types of certain foods at once, adults can experience various health complications. The consequences can be even more serious in children.
If you want to avoid making such mistakes, here are the following combinations of foods you should rather avoid.
1. Banana and pudding
Although it is quite a popular dessert, it is fairly problematic from a health perspective.
The result of this combination is often heaviness in the stomach, flatulence, reduced brain performance and increased production of toxins in the body.
2. Orange and carrot
Again, this is a fairly popular combination, especially in places where fresh fruit juices are sold.
However, the combination of carrot and orange can cause heartburn, excessive bile production and can even damage the intestines and rectum, which can then lead to more serious illnesses.
3. Pineapple and milk
Whether it’s milk or yogurt, the presence of the enzyme bromelain from pineapple causes increased toxicity in the body.
After this combination you may feel nausea, flatulence, bloating, headaches or stomach pain, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea may also occur.
Avoid it especially in children, in whom the symptoms are much stronger.
4. Papaya and lemon
This combination, in turn, contributes to the development of anemia and problems with hemoglobin.
Avoid it as much as possible and never risk giving it to children.
5. Guava and banana
When banana and guava are mixed in the stomach, an excessive amount of stomach acid is formed.
You then experience nausea, heaviness and headaches and stomach pain.
6. Orange and milk
If you are one of those who have orange juice with milk alongside their morning cereal, stop doing that immediately!
Orange prevents the stomach from processing the starch found in cereals. In addition, when milk is mixed with orange, the stomach has trouble digesting it, especially in children.
7. Fruit and vegetables
Since fruit has a higher proportion of sugars, vegetables cannot be properly digested and then remain in the stomach for a long time.
Fruit begins to ferment, produces more toxins, resulting in headaches and stomach pain, diarrhea, flatulence or even serious infections of the digestive system (candida and similar).
How to combine foods properly
Remember that fruit should mainly be mixed with similar types of fruit. Here are a few examples:
Sweet: Those that do not contain acids. This group includes, for example: peaches, plums, bananas, apples, red and cantaloupe melon.
Sour: These are fruits that contain citric acid: lemons, oranges, grapefruits, blueberries, kiwi, grapes, pineapple.
Partially sour: The occurrence of acids is low, for example: green apples, mango, raspberries, strawberries.
Neutral: These are foods that contain more proteins, salts and oils. Good examples are: avocado, coconut, peanuts, almonds, nuts.
Conclusion
If you are unsure about something, you can consult your doctor, pediatrician or a nutritionist.
And remember: Eating healthy is not a luxury, but a necessity.
