Frying, however, is not a healthy method of preparation
Fried potato chips or fries are not at all easy to stop eating. Once you start, you won’t stop until they’re all gone. Chips and fries are simply addictive. Frying oil, however, is not healthy at all. If you regularly indulge in fried chips and fries, you’re setting yourself up for health problems!
How to enjoy fries without guilt?
You don’t have to give them up completely. Just prepare them more healthily without using butter, lard, or oil. Healthier doesn’t have to mean less tasty. We have a great, simple recipe for you. You can even bake the fries in the oven!
You will need:
- 2 egg whites
- 5 – 7 potatoes
- Salt to taste
- Turmeric to taste
- Black pepper
Preheat the oven to 200 – 220 °C. Peel the potatoes (you can leave the skin on, but you must clean it well). Cut the potatoes into fries (1 – 1.5 cm wide). Whip the egg whites into stiff peaks. Add the spices and mix well. Place the fries in a bowl with the egg white and mix. Put in the oven for 35 – 40 minutes and bake until golden.
