Usually women notice breast cancer in the shower or during self-examination, but of course cancer is also discovered during preventive check-ups that they regularly undergo with their gynecologist. It is important, however, to understand how our body works so you can tell the difference if something occurs. There can be many symptoms of cancer, but not all will necessarily mean cancer.
Detect cancer early so you can treat it in time
If you discover a mole, freckle, a sunken piece of skin or a lump on yourself, it does not necessarily mean cancer, but it can also be one of the first symptoms you notice. If you find something that does not belong on your body, first see a doctor who will assess whether it is a condition that could threaten your life.
One of the symptoms can be a change in the skin. If you care for your skin regularly and suddenly moles, freckles or other changes appear, it may indicate a health problem that needs to be addressed. Such symptoms do not necessarily mean cancer, but they are certainly not trivial issues. You can get Paget’s disease, which is a rare form of cancer that can also appear.
Lymph nodes can become inflamed—watch out for lumps
Ganglia are associated with bone cancer. They are usually very small in size, round and located under the esophagus. They can be inflamed or painful, which does not have to mean cancer, but could also be a bacterial or viral infection. It could also be brain cancer, and therefore it is necessary to report this condition to your doctor at the slightest trouble. If it is cancer, the ganglia may react. Rarely, bone cancer may also appear.
It is important to know your body and its reactions not only to foods, but also to physical activity or pain. Lumps do not have to be related only to cancer; cysts, hormonal disorders or other problems can occur. Some types of cancer can also be caused by unsuitable foods in your diet. Also watch out for spots that may appear all over the body. Usually these are not symptoms that indicate cancer, but to rule out the risk, consult a specialist.
Orange skin may appear; it may have other discoloration
You should go for cancer screening tests if you have really unsightly spots on your skin or find other abnormalities and moles that were not there before. Red or purple skin definitely does not fall within normal coloring and you should mention it to your doctor. Skin retraction is a symptom that can indicate an aggressive type of cancer. It can appear on the skin.
Most importantly, prevention is key. Check yourself regularly, visit your doctor regularly and forget about shame. If you find something on your body that does not belong there, only by confiding in a doctor will you get certainty whether it really is cancer or you are “scaring” yourself unnecessarily. If you take care of yourself, you can reduce the risk of cancer by up to 40%. Women generally perceive their bodies differently and better, and therefore are not afraid of home examinations or other methods that help them detect health problems.
Pain, tenderness or a burning sensation in the head may appear. If you have problems concentrating, sleep poorly or are often tired, this is definitely a problem that needs to be addressed quickly. If you ignore it, it can affect not only your everyday life, but you may be cut off from all the people you love because you will not be able to communicate with them. Such feelings are not normal, and if other symptoms join, it is clear that it will not be a trivial problem but cancer may actually appear. Many people, even after confirmation by a doctor, do not admit that they may be ill. It is necessary to provide them mainly with psychological support, which they will greatly appreciate.
