Lilac Flower

The medicinal properties of lilac have been known in folk medicine for more than a hundred years. It was abundant in the gardens of the nobility of the Ottoman Empire. It is said that it was first used there for medical purposes and in perfumery.
Lilac contains large amounts of ascorbic acid, essential oils and flavonoids that have a positive effect on the body. In addition, it has excellent antipyretic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.

It is used to prepare tea, oil, compresses and ointments that help with rheumatism, rheumatoid arthritis, sciatica, heel irritation and gout. Unfortunately, lilac oil is almost impossible to buy even in specialty stores. But you can easily prepare it at home.

The flowers should be collected in a park or outside the city – away from industrial areas and dusty roads.

You will need:

Carefully separate the flowers from the stem and place them into the container.

Heat the oil to a temperature of 40 degrees and pour it over the flowers in the container to the top.

Cover the container with the lid and let it stand for 2 days.

Strain the oil through gauze and squeeze out the lilac flowers well.
