Lilac with Alpa
Lilac is the ornament of many gardens. This beautiful flower with its intoxicating scent is not only lovely but also medicinal. You just need to know how to use it properly. I would like to recommend a lilac tincture.
Its preparation is completely simple and its use truly versatile: for a migraine you only need to rub it on the temples, for joint and muscle pain apply it and leave it to work.
This tincture helped me with a sore knee and that’s why I make up a supply every spring. For the preparation you only need ordinary alcohol (I use Alpa) and blooming lilac flowers. You will be amazed by its effects.
What can a lilac tincture do when used externally?
- anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antibacterial properties for the skin
- relieves joint and muscle pain,
- alleviates pain caused by arthritis,
- eases skin problems,
- is helpful for headaches and migraines,
- reduces tension,
- has unique effects on beauty too – slows premature skin aging,
- contains natural UVA and UVB protective substances, thereby protecting the skin from damage.
How to make it?
Lilac flowers are covered with a small amount of white alcohol or Alpa. The mixture is left to macerate in a dark, cool place for 7 to 10 days. Afterwards it is strained through gauze and the fragrant tincture is ready.
How to use it?
The tincture is used for pain by rubbing it on or in the form of compresses on painful joints and muscles.
A few drops added to a bath have a calming effect and improve sleep. The whole family can really use this tincture.

We need:
- Finely chopped leaves of ribwort plantain
- Cane sugar
Procedure:
Take two handfuls of fresh leaves, chop them finely and cover with two handfuls of sugar. Overnight the sugar will dissolve in the juice from the leaves, so the bits of leaves will stick together. The next day add another layer of leaves and again cover with sugar. Let it stand again and continue layering like this every day until you fill the jar. Then close it and store for two months in a warm place with a constant temperature. Finally strain the contents and briefly heat the juice to 70 degrees. Store in dark glass containers.
Nettle and oil
You get the main ingredient completely free in spring, you just need to mix it with ordinary oil.
What can nettle oil help with?
The anti-rheumatic effects of stinging nettle are well known over time; you make best use of them in the form of nettle oil.
- acts anti-rheumatically and helps with atherosclerosis
- reduces joint and muscle pain
- has anti-inflammatory effects (joints, nerves, urinary tract, etc.)
- acts antiallergically
- beneficially affects the skin
- eliminates wrinkles
- helps against hair loss
- accelerates healing of eczema, rashes, corns and fungal infections on the feet
- suppresses mental and physical fatigue and exhaustion – add it to baths
How to make the oil?
We need:
- nettle
- oil
Procedure:
Put the prepared chopped fresh nettle into a jar and cover it with oil in a 1:1 ratio. Let it infuse for 2 weeks. Then strain the oil and use it to rub on the limbs.
If you use olive or almond oil to make it, you’ll get an amazing product for your hair and skin.
You can use the oil for rubbing, or to make a hair mask (massage into the hair and leave to act for about 45 minutes).
