At 58, I feel like I’m 40! In my youth I was always slim, but as happens, age inexorably approached and I began to notice changes. Not only was I gaining weight, but fat pads began to appear on my belly, hips, and legs. It was frustrating, but I decided to fight it. My story is proof that even with advancing age it’s possible to improve your metabolism and bring back lightness and vitality to your body.
1. Change of diet: Healthy and balanced food
The first step to success was improving my eating habits. I eliminated unhealthy foods, such as buns, cakes, fried and greasy dishes. My diet now includes cereals, fruit, vegetables, boiled eggs, kefir, stewed fish and chicken. I emphasize natural, simple food that supports health and metabolism.
2. My favorite buckwheat porridge
Buckwheat porridge is my favorite dish. I cook it without salt and oil. At night I simply pour boiling water over the buckwheat and cover it with a clean cloth. In the morning it’s ready as a steamed porridge. It’s a great way to start the day with a hearty and healthy meal that supports metabolism.
3. Smaller portions and regularity
I eat normal meals three times a day, but in smaller portions than before. Between main meals I also have two small snacks – usually fruit or vegetables. This way of eating helped me better control my weight and maintain stable energy levels throughout the day.
4. Foods that speed up metabolism
I included foods that speed up metabolism in my diet. Grapefruit, green apples, beans, broccoli, buckwheat, oatmeal, almonds, chicken fillet, kefir, spinach and cinnamon – this is the list of my favorite foods. I try to include at least five of these products each week, which support health and proper metabolic function.
5. Don’t eat at night
I’m not a fan of late dinners. I don’t eat after 7:00 PM, which is also important for a proper metabolism. I avoid nighttime overeating, which has a positive effect on digestion and fat burning.
6. Sleep is key
Sleep is a fundamental pillar for speeding up metabolism. I go to bed between 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM and sleep 8 hours. This regular sleep has helped me feel refreshed and full of energy. Lack of sleep slows metabolism, so quality sleep is absolutely essential.
7. Drinking enough fluids
Adequate fluid intake is necessary for proper metabolic function. Upon waking I always drink a glass of water on an empty stomach, which helps kickstart the metabolism. During the day I drink two more glasses of water and green tea, which also supports digestion and fat burning.
8. Physical exercise: Gymnastics and walks
Physical activity is an indispensable part of a healthy lifestyle. Every day I do gymnastics that lasts about 40 minutes. The exercise also includes stretching, which helps keep the body flexible. I go for long walks every day, even in cold weather. In winter I ski. Outdoor movement helps improve my mood and speed up my metabolism.
Results of my efforts
This lifestyle led to significant changes. After a year I achieved my goal – I improved my metabolism and got rid of excess kilos. I no longer have a bloated belly, my hips disappeared and my legs became slimmer. I feel much better, I have more energy and my body is lighter. Even at 58 I became more attractive, which others confirmed to me.
This story is proof that even with age you can speed up your metabolism and return vitality and a youthful appearance to your body. Remember that it’s about patience and the right lifestyle – never give up!
