Nowadays many doctors tend to recommend colonoscopy. It is an examination that allows them to see the inner lining of the rectum and large intestine.

Besides detecting cancerous growths, they can also use it to uncover areas of inflammation or ulcers in the large bowel. In the United States alone, more than 14 million patients undergo this examination each year as part of colorectal cancer prevention.

However, the question arises: Is this examination really so effective and safe?

The truth is that it is an extremely painful and dangerous procedure that can have fatal consequences!

Low effectiveness and dangers of colonoscopy

The publication Annals of Internal Medicine states that approximately 70,000 patients annually are injured during colonoscopy, or even die from complications related to it. It sounds almost unbelievable, but at the same time it means that this is a higher number than the number of deaths from colorectal cancer itself. A study of tumor-marker polyps confirmed that colonoscopy increases mortality by up to 57%. For every person that this examination saved, there are 56 injured people.

It is also proven that as a result of insufficient cleaning of instruments, infections can be transmitted such as hepatitis B and C, Helicobacter pylori, tuberculosis bacteria, salmonella, E. coli and HPV viruses, influenza or even HIV.

Colonoscopy does not prevent cancer

The New York Times in 2006 published a study of patients who had at least one adenoma detected at colonoscopy but did not have cancer. The study’s result showed that in the following years they developed cancer at the same rate as would be expected in the general population without this screening. Another study, published the same year, proved that patients from all observations had the same incidence of colorectal cancer as is found in the general population without undergoing colonoscopy. And this was despite the fact that all their polyps had been removed!

Colonoscopy is hazardous to health

Colonoscopy is nothing more than a fraud on patients to enrich doctors, device manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies. It is an invasive and life-threatening procedure. For your protection you should discuss less invasive and safer screening methods with your doctor, for example stool testing, computed tomography colonography or sigmoidoscopy.
