In America a new species of insect has appeared that is beginning to spread around the world – it is called the “kissing bug”. Yes, it sounds completely harmless, but it is a dangerous parasitic insect that in some cases spreads the deadly Chagas disease to both people and animals .

This disease used to occur very rarely, but this species now helps to spread it very effectively. The statistics are such that more than 300,000 people have already been infected with this disease and in Texas they even recorded the deaths of 400 dogs as a result of this Chagas disease.
Bite symptoms
Kissing bugs feed on your blood, biting people and animals most often around the eyes and mouth, usually while they are sleeping.
If this insect actually bites you, the symptoms will be:
- weakness
- Poor coordination and confusion
- seizures or twitching movements
- diarrhea
- enlarged abdomen
- loss of appetite
- depression and lethargy
- Increased heart rate
If you notice any of these and find that you were bitten by this insect, you should seek medical help as soon as possible.
