If your dog constantly licks your face, it may not be entirely desirable for your health. In the dog’s oral cavity there are many microorganisms and parasites that can transfer to your body. With dogs it is good to avoid their parasites by proper and regular cleaning, as well as prevention. If your dog begins to show signs of parasites, address it immediately with the veterinarian. Such symptoms may be: poor health, weight loss, frequent illnesses but also digestive problems.
Where parasites are most commonly found
Parasites in dogs are most commonly to be found in the oral cavity and in the nose. In some cases these parasites do not harm your body. But not all parasites are completely safe for our bodies. They can also endanger us if we have a weaker immune system and more vulnerable health. In such cases you definitely should not let dogs lick you. Microorganisms that jump onto you from the dog’s oral cavity can cause, for example, unpleasant conditions when the gums and lips crack.
If a dog licked you and you subsequently began to suffer from a cold sore, it may have been caused precisely as a result of that licking. So if you suffer from cold sores, also reconsider having your face licked. Pasteurella is one of the microscopic organisms that live in the dog’s oral cavity and can cause the subsequent development of a cold sore. It may not be just a lack of vitamin B. These parasites can cause several unwanted side effects in people. These include not only the aforementioned cold sore, but can also be swelling, or redness of the area that will irritate and itch you.
