If you’re looking for a tasty and healthy way to start your day, try this combination of oat flakes and chia seeds! This breakfast not only supports heart and joint health, but also helps regulate blood sugar levels, lowers bad cholesterol and boosts metabolism. Why choose oat flakes and chia seeds?

Ingredients:
- 1 cup oat flakes
- 2 glasses of water
- 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (preferably Ceylon)
- 1–2 tablespoons honey
- a pinch of salt
- 2–3 tablespoons chia seeds

Preparing the base
Pour the water into a pot, add the cinnamon and bring the water to a boil. -
Adding the oats
Once the water reaches a boil, reduce the heat, add the oat flakes and cook for about 5 minutes. -
Resting and cooling
After cooking, cover the pot and let the mixture sit for another 5 minutes. Then let it cool to a temperature where it’s safe to add the honey. -
Adding honey and chia seeds
To the cooled mixture add the honey, a pinch of salt and mix well. Pour the mixture into a bowl and add the chia seeds (for better digestibility you can grind the chia seeds). -
Finishing with lemon
Finally add the fresh lemon juice, stir and you’re done.
Tip:
To have this breakfast ready faster, you can prepare part of it in the evening and let it rest in the fridge.
