Throughout our entire lives, lymph flows in our body in addition to blood. We have, alongside arteries and veins, another system that ensures this circulation. In this lymphatic system water, minerals and nutrients flow, and toxic substances are flushed away. When the flow slows down or stops, we can start suffering from illnesses or gaining weight. We will show how, with simple exercises, we can get the lymph moving, which will help us with weight reduction.

  1. Place the fingers of both hands on the neck under the ears. With gentle pressure perform a massage from the head toward the neck. Some spots are stiff and the massage can hurt. On those spots leave your hands pressed for a moment. Repeat 10 times.
  2. Place the fingers of both hands at the back of the head where the hair begins. Alternately massage the neck from top to bottom, 10 times. Then repeat the same massage on the front side of the neck.
  3. Raise your left arm and hold it vertically up, but relaxed. With your right hand gently press the skin in the armpit and massage toward the shoulder. Repeat 10 times and then switch arms.
  4. Grab the skin in the hip area with both hands, and as if rolling it, move toward the shoulder. Repeat 10 times in 3 sets for each side of the body.
  5. Let the abdominal muscles relax. Squeeze the abdomen with the pressure of your hand. Then massage the abdomen with circular motions. Repeat 10 times.
  6. Ankles. Place your foot on a chair or armchair so that it is elevated. Pinch the skin at the ankles with both hands and massage toward the knee. Repeat 10 times. Then switch legs.
  7. Place one foot on a chair so that it is elevated. Hold it with both hands under the knee and, pulling toward the hips, massage. Repeat 10 times. Then switch legs.

If you repeat these exercises regularly, your lymphatic system will kick-start and the flow within it will be restored. Not only will this benefit your body, but it will also help you lose weight.
