Water retention, also known as edema, occurs when excess fluids accumulate inside the body. It can cause swelling in the hands, feet, ankles and bags under the eyes. In women, water retention can also occur during pregnancy or before menstruation. Water retention in the body not only adds to weight, but also burdens the heart and internal organs. This problem often begins to appear in people after their 50s and is very closely associated with excessive salt intake, sedentary work, lack of movement and an unhealthy lifestyle.

Miraculous nettle foot bath

We know that nettle has many positive effects. I want to describe my experience to you because I hope that by doing so I can help someone.
My mom suffered for years from poor circulation in her legs.

Despite medications she used to have leg pain, sometimes she wouldn’t sleep at all for a few days and the pain sometimes escalated to such an extent that we were forced to urgently see a doctor. The nurse at the general practitioner’s office told us that nettles can help. Unbelievable, but it worked immediately.

For example, pick nettles – but it’s important to pull them up with the roots. Then wash them well of dirt and immerse in a bucket of cold water. Let the nettles steep like this overnight. The next day pour into a pot and heat but do not boil.

When the liquid is hot, remove from the heat and let it cool so that the liquid is pleasant and you can tolerate the foot bath. The bath is enough about 20 minutes. Unbelievable how relieved my mom felt; she felt the effect already during the bath. The bath also works against swelling and varicose veins.

Recipe against swelling and accumulated fluid with black radish

Swelling often develops as a result of fluid retention in the body, which in turn is caused by an imbalance of sodium and potassium. Radishes help rid the body of excessively retained fluid because they contain a large amount of potassium salts and have a diuretic effect.

Black radish for swelling

Radish with lemon juice – a strong remedy against retained water and the swelling caused by this problem

You will need:

  • 200 g black radish
  • 40 ml lemon juice

Grate the root vegetable on a coarse grater, add the lemon juice and mix. Take 30-40 g of the mixture 4-5 times a day for one week.

Parsley tea for swelling

One of the most effective and healthiest natural diuretics is ordinary parsley. Make a simple tea from it that fights water retention in the body.

You will need:

  • 5 teaspoons of parsley
  • 500 ml of water

How to do it?

Bring the water to a boil and add finely chopped fresh leaves to it. Let it boil for another 5 minutes and then turn off. After cooling, strain and remember to drink the tea at least 3 times a day. Your legs have never felt better and more comfortable.

One more thing at the end:

Parsley tea is recommended and useful, but only in certain amounts. Be careful not to drink too much of it, because it is not suitable for everyone (for example for pregnant women).

Do not drink more than one liter of tea per day.

For rubbing: Young koblihy in alcohol or Alpa

Francovka in which you let lavender or ordinary chestnuts or young koblihy steep. We use it for rubbing.

Nettle, dandelion, and burdock

Nettle or dandelion tea is very helpful for swelling and pain. You can also use herbs for baths or infusions, from which compresses are made.

Foods that fight excess water in the body

Celery stalks

Celery contains a compound called coumarin, which helps cleanse the body of antioxidants and accumulated water. It also aids digestion and prevents high blood pressure.

Ginger

Ginger is considered one of the most effective diuretic foods. It helps with digestion and helps remove all harmful toxins from the body.

Carrot

Carrots are rich in antioxidants and vitamins that facilitate detoxification in the body. Thanks to their potassium content, carrots also help maintain cholesterol and blood sugar levels.

Cucumbers

Cucumbers have a high water content and contain nutrients that help flush uric acid from the kidneys. They also contain caffeic acid, which helps get rid of retained water. Cucumbers are also low in calories and will help you lose weight.

Cranberries

Cranberries are rich in antioxidants and vitamin C

These substances help remove excess water from the body. They also protect the body’s cells from damage caused by toxins and free radicals produced by your body during metabolism.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon contains chromium, which helps control appetite. Cinnamon also helps boost immunity and is a great aid for detoxification.

Asparagus

The high potassium content in asparagus helps prevent unnecessary water retention in the body.

Green tea

Green tea is a natural diuretic. Research has shown that regular consumption of green tea can reduce body fat by up to 19%.

Dandelion

Dandelion has traditionally been used as a natural diuretic. In Europe, dandelion extract is used to treat many health conditions and is approved by the German Commission E for the reduction of water retention.

Melon

Melons consist of 92% water and are literally packed with various minerals and vitamins that have diuretic properties.

A drink that will get retained water out of the body (7-day cure)!

Excess sodium in the body has many negative side effects – besides the strain on the heart and blood vessels, visible manifestations are weight gain, swelling and often unsightly cellulite.

Because the balance of water is disrupted and there is excess water in the body, the fat layer is unevenly distributed, which outwardly makes it look as if you weigh much more.

Natural diuretics

This type of “obesity” is not unusual and is very common in people who like and use a lot of salt. For solving this problem, excellent natural diuretics are available (they break down excess sodium and thus water from your body). They remove excess fluid from the body, reduce swelling and regulate water exchange. There can be up to 4 liters of excess fluid in the body. You should know that the fluid can be significantly reduced already within 1 week. Remember to consume sufficient amounts of fluids during this period – ideally plain water!

Slimming tea

For a smaller reduction of water from the body, for example – lemon, ginger, green tea or melon are suitable – but they are not enough to help quickly. For this purpose, bay leaf is appropriate. Green tea with bay leaf is a salvation for anyone who needs to address the problem of water retention in the body in a short time and thus relieve not only their health but also gain a nicer figure.

Tea for “slimming”

You will need:

  • 800 ml of water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 tablespoons of green tea
  • 1-2 bay leaves

Bring the water to a boil and add all the ingredients. Cover and let steep for 15 minutes (like a classic tea). Strain the finished tea through a sieve or cheesecloth and drink 3 times a day: in the morning on an empty stomach, after breakfast and before bed. Drink for 1 week and always take a 1-2 week break between courses (you will see for yourself).

Slimming drink

Green tea and bay leaf are diuretics and cinnamon is needed for flavor (but it’s also great for slimming). Its aroma, sometimes barely perceptible, calms even a very urgent appetite. The tea therefore protects against overeating, speeds up metabolism and removes excess water from the body. Its taste may seem a little unusual to you, but a few sips are enough and you’ll get used to it. It is pleasant.
