You’ll be surprised how simple it is for your towels to shine with cleanliness again. And you don’t even need any special products for it — you surely have everything at home!
Our grandmothers already knew this
How is it possible that our grandmothers used a method thanks to which their laundry was perfectly clean? And not only clean, but also soft and free of all viruses and bacteria! Because our ancestors knew well how to care for laundry so that it would last a long time and serve well. Moreover, beautiful white laundry was a calling card of a housewife who knew how to perfectly take care of her household and children. Therefore, the laundry had to be not only clean, but also well disinfected. Only perfect cleanliness could prevent various infections and disease-causing germs.
Baking soda helps with whitening
In our grandmothers’ days there were no washing machines and dryers with many programs for perfectly clean clothes. Yet they had white towels, while today grayish pieces of fabric often hang on hooks even though we wash them at 60 and 90 degrees. Do you want them to be as white as in the old days? You will need a laundry detergent or dishwashing liquid that you usually have at home, and baking soda.
Baking soda whitens and also absorbs odors
Baking soda is literally a miraculous helper in the household; it can remove dirt, dingy grime, and also whiten. At the same time it can absorb odors. Baking soda is available in the form of crystals, powder, but also in liquid form. You can use any kind for whitening towels. Add a large tablespoon of baking soda and one tablespoon of laundry detergent to a pot of water, bring to a boil and add towels, bath sheets or washcloths. Leave them in the water until the water cools. Then take them out and put them in the washing machine in the usual way. You’ll be surprised how white they will be! In addition, they’ll be perfectly clean and free of bacteria!
