Do the curtains in your apartment seem somewhat grayish? Or do you even see yellowed spots on them? You don’t have to rush to the store to buy new ones; instead try the tricks that have proven most effective.
My trick for super white curtains
We need:
- 1 pack of baking powder
- 1 dishwasher tablet
- Optional: a little fabric softener
Procedure:
- Place the curtain / or curtains you want to clean into the drum.
- Put 1 dishwasher tablet into the drum with the curtain.
- Pour 1 pack of baking powder into the detergent compartment.
- If you want, you can also add a little fabric softener.
- Now fill the washing machine. Set the program for synthetic material, 800 rpm, and turn on the washer. That’s it, now just wait for the result.
My trick for yellowed, greasy and smelly curtains
Shake them well several times in the air to remove dust.
Place them into a deep container and pour cold water over them.
Add 30 ml of mouthwash. Wait 10 minutes.
Gently wash the curtain by hand. Pour off the dirty water.
Put the curtain in the washing machine. Use a gentle laundry detergent and turn on the delicate wash cycle.
Hang the slightly damp tulle to dry so that it is even.
That’s it, the curtains are like new.
Miraculous bleaching solution
Use these ingredients for the miraculous bleaching solution.
We need:
- laundry soap
- baking soda
- a little bleach
procedure:
- Grate the laundry soap and dissolve it in warm water. Add baking soda in the same proportion as the soap.
- So if you used 100 g of laundry soap, for example, use 100 g of soda. Adjust the amount of water so that the entire curtain is submerged. Leave it soaked in this solution for about half a day.
- Turn the curtain occasionally and after just 30 minutes you’ll see how dirt has been released and the bleaching process has begun. Then rinse it well. The water is very soapy, so if you don’t rinse it well, it will foam a lot in the washing machine.
- Load the curtain into the washing machine drum and wash as usual with regular laundry powder or gel. Add a little bleach. Set the wash temperature to 60 °C.
- Although the bleaching takes almost the whole day, it’s basically effortless and you hardly have to do anything. Just turn the curtain a few times while it’s submerged in the solution, rinse it, and the washing machine will do the rest. The result is amazing and your curtains will shine with cleanliness.
