Have you ever come across the term „hyperhidróza“? If you do not suffer from this disorder yourself or it does not occur in your close surroundings, you will most likely know it by the commonly used phrase „excessive sweating“.

Sweating as such is very important for the human body, it ensures proper thermoregulation and occurs in each of us. However, if someone suffers from excessive sweat production, it is recommended to visit a doctor – a specialist, in this case primarily a dermatologist, who can help with this problem.

What people who have this problem describe as the most unpleasant accompanying symptom is, simply put, a feeling of embarrassment. A little warmer weather or just slightly increased physical activity (often just climbing stairs) is enough, and hyperhidrosis manifests fully, especially with increased moisture of the palms, armpits and soles, which of course does not make interpersonal relationships any easier, both personal and professional.

Sweat as such, besides increased heat and physical exertion, also naturally appears for example

  • during febrile illnesses,
  • in stressful situations, or
  • when a person is really afraid of something or is struggling with a phobia.

If you visit a doctor about this problem, depending on its severity they may prescribe medications, so-called anticholinergics, may start dermatological treatment, or in the most severe cases may recommend surgery, during which sweat glands in the armpit are usually removed or an operative procedure is performed in the chest area.

There are, of course, also some forms of natural treatments that can reduce excessive sweating.

Baking soda

Into a larger bowl of fresh cold water add two cups of baking soda, stir and immerse your hands and feet in the bath. If you repeat this process daily, you will see that you will have much fewer problems with sweating.

Baby powder (talc)

If your sweating problem is not too severe, you can also use the highly absorbent properties of baby powder to eliminate sweat, which due to its composition is suitable for all skin types, even more sensitive ones.

Tomato juice

Into a larger bowl of warm water add two cups of tomato juice and immerse your limbs in this mixture for approximately 30 minutes daily. While soaking, gently scrub the skin of your hands and feet with a suitable brush or loofah. At first glance it may seem like a somewhat strange cure, but you will be pleasantly surprised by its effects.

Iodine

Excessive sweating can be a sign that your body is deficient in iodine. This can be supplemented in the diet mainly from eggs and fish and a doctor can also prescribe iodine tablets if necessary. In any case, the doctor will probably examine you in relation to the function of your thyroid gland.

Tea

The calming effects of tea are generally known – not only does drinking it have a beneficial effect on the human body, but for example tea bags help fight tired skin and eyes. The composition of tea also helps reduce sweating. In a suitably large container let 5 bags of any kind of tea steep in water and then use the bath to soothe the skin of your hands and feet. It is recommended to repeat the treatment daily for 30 minutes.

Remember that the more you sweat, the more you need to drink water to restore balance in the body and even out the level of perspiration.
