Remember how your baking sheet looked when you bought it – it was probably shiny, smooth and beautiful. Unfortunately, like other kitchen utensils, the tray becomes covered with a dark layer of soot after a while.

You won’t just throw it away!

There are plenty of ways to breathe new life into an old ugly item. Of course you can buy special products. Unfortunately they don’t always work and contain a lot of unnecessary chemicals. Some can cause skin irritation if you don’t use gloves. Another side effect is allergies. And regardless of the amount of added fragrance, it can leave an unpleasant smell on the dishes  for up to half a day. That’s why we recommend trying proven folk methods. They can remove even stubborn carbon deposits and dirt.

  2. Sprinkle the remaining baking soda back on.
  3. Let it sit for 1 to 2 hours.
  4. Then rinse the pan thoroughly.

How to clean a glass baking dish

You will need:

  • 100 g of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of dishwashing liquid
  • 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide
  • A stiff dish sponge

Procedure:

  1. Mix all three ingredients until you obtain a uniformly white paste.
  2. Add more hydrogen peroxide and dishwashing liquid if necessary.
  3. Spread the mixture over the dirty spots.
  4. After 10–15 minutes take the stiff sponge and clean the surface.

Glass baking dishes are very easy to use. They seem so easy to clean! However, if residues have dried on, the glass can be scratched easily during cleaning. And over time it may look worn. A baking soda solution can help restore the glass’s original shine.

Prevention is best!

Congratulations on successfully cleaning even the oldest pans. To ensure the problem doesn’t recur and that you don’t lose a second during cooking and cleaning, think prevention. Use parchment paper. That’s where the most damage occurs. After baking, remove the paper — and the problem is gone. After use simply wipe the tray with a damp sponge and put it back.

With these methods you can quickly get rid of dirt. It turned out to be that easy. Not only will you save on buying expensive chemicals! Now, instead of spending an hour or more at the sink, you can spend more time with your family.
