The main cause is insufficient insulin production by the pancreas

It appears mainly in adults. A large percentage of people with this disease belong to the so-called metabolic syndrome, where the patient, in addition to diabetes, is also affected by disordered fat metabolism, atherosclerosis and high blood pressure. The main symptoms include reduced perception of sweet taste, blurred vision, intense thirst, fatigue, slow wound healing, pain and tingling in the feet, fatigue or loss of hair on the legs. Flu-like symptoms may also occur. If diabetes reaches a more advanced stage, speech, vision and coordination disorders, paralysis, hallucinations and panic attacks may occur.
