If you also use an oven in the kitchen, you surely know that cleaning it can sometimes be a real challenge. It often can’t be done without a lot of various powdered chemical cleaners, because the dirt is often baked on and very stubborn. Still, there is a completely natural method, that is, an entirely eco-friendly way, how you can simply and effectively clean the oven without chemical products. It’s gentle not only to nature, but also to your health.
What will we need to clean the oven without chemicals?
Your oven can literally look like new even thanks to completely natural cleaning. All the necessary ingredients and tools you’ll need for cleaning you already have at home. So you probably won’t have to buy anything.
You will therefore need:
- 1/2 cup of baking soda
- 4 tablespoons of water
- rubber gloves
- a damp cloth
- silicone scraper
- 1/4 cup of vinegar
Cleaning the oven step by step
First of all, you need to remove all trays or other accessories from the oven. Now mix the baking soda with water to make a cleaning paste. Spread the resulting mixture evenly inside the oven. Of course, avoid the heating elements, etc. We recommend using protective rubber gloves. Now you need to let the mixture work, ideally overnight.
Cleaning the oven after overnight
When you look into the oven the next morning, you’ll find that the baking soda has probably turned brown. That’s the right time to take a damp cloth and wipe everything away. If the mixture has dried somewhere, it can be easily removed with a silicone scraper.
Using vinegar and final cleaning
Now pour the vinegar into a spray bottle and spray it onto the areas where baking soda still remains. A chemical reaction will occur, which you’ll recognize by the foam forming. Now take the damp cloth again and clean the oven thoroughly until you remove all dirt. If necessary, add water or vinegar. Done, the oven should now be perfectly clean!
