Every year I make this homemade remedy from elderflowers – an antibiotic for diseases in the oral cavity.
It is an excellent aid for any pain, inflammations and infections in the oral cavity.
We use it for gargling, rinsing and disinfection. The tincture helps with toothache, inflammations, tonsillitis, and flu. The tincture destroys germs and you can use it throughout the year.
How to make an elderflower remedy?
You will need:
- 200 g of dried elderflowers or 150 g of fresh elderflowers
- 1 liter of white alcohol (preferably vodka)
- a sealable bottle
Instructions:
- Place the elderflowers into the alcohol and close tightly.
- Let this bottle steep for one month and shake it from time to time.
- After a month you can strain the tincture, but you don’t have to if you don’t want to, provided the pieces of flowers don’t bother you.
Usage:
The tincture is excellent against pain, it has a soothing and healing effect.
We use it to rinse the mouth during illnesses, inflammations, or for toothache and sore throat.
