An unbearable pain that does have a solution in the form of traditional treatment methods

It may not be widely known, but unbearable heel pain, commonly called heel spurs, is a fairly common problem that is not talked about much. It occurs more often in older people or in people who frequently stand in one place because of their work. Although the pain may seem so unbearable that there is no defense against it, the opposite is true. Even in this case you can undergo traditional treatment instead of ointments bought at the pharmacy, and we will advise you on how to finally get relief.

Heel spurs

It is a protrusion on the heel bone most often directed downward. It forms as a result of bone growth due to chronic mechanical overload, which becomes irritated during walking and then causes pain. Heel spurs are characterized by severe pain in the center of the heel, which prevents normal walking. Painful symptoms appear with the first steps after sleep or after long periods of sitting or standing.

Traditional treatment methods

Traditional treatment methods are still considered more effective than any medicines, creams and ointments purchased at the pharmacy. We tried several of them and would like to suggest a few.

  • Slow heel taps on the floor
  • Potato compresses
  • Wrap with honey and salt
  • Healing tincture with aspirin

Heel taps on the ground

The simplest treatment for heel pain is slow heel taps on the floor several times a day. Circulation and calcium metabolism increase and at the same time the deposition of salts is prevented.

Potato compresses

They help with severe pain. Wash them thoroughly and grate them including the peel. Apply the mixture to a bandage and place it on the affected area. Then wrap it in a nylon bag and put on socks. The compress should be changed every day. Continue the treatment for at least 7–8 days.

Wrap with honey and salt

Mix honey and salt in a 1 : 1 ratio and apply a thick layer to the affected area. Wrap with gauze and secure with adhesive plaster. Cover with a plastic bag and put on socks. Leave on overnight. The pain should subside after the third treatment and disappear completely after the fifth. Follow the entire procedure for at least 10 days.

Healing tincture with aspirin

Crush 10 aspirin tablets into a fine powder and pour 250 ml of 70% medical alcohol over them. Let stand for 1–2 days. Shake before each use and soak a piece of gauze, wrap the heel, wrap in a nylon bag and put on a sock. Leave on overnight and rinse off with water in the morning. Apply a greasy cream. After 10 treatments the rough skin on the heel will be cleared of deposits.
