Coming up with what to cook for lunch every day, and what for dinner, can be really complicated. If you feel that meals are repeating a lot and you don’t know what to cook for dinner, try buckwheat patties that the whole family will enjoy. In addition, it’s a healthy and nutritious dinner. Buckwheat contains a significant amount of vitamins, such as B1, B2, B6 and vitamin E. Mineral substances include magnesium, manganese, zinc and iron.
For the patties you will need:
- Buckwheat 1 cup
- Potatoes 3 pieces
- Onion 1 piece
- Egg 1 piece
- Garlic 3 cloves
- Salt, pepper or herbs to your liking
- Oil and breadcrumbs
Cook the buckwheat in the usual way. On the back of the package there are instructions for preparation. Usually one cup of buckwheat and two cups of water apply. Boil the potatoes and meanwhile peel and chop the onion into small pieces. Fry the chopped onion in oil; once it has a golden color, it’s done. Mash the potatoes, mix with the buckwheat, egg, garlic and salt; you can also add herbs according to your taste. Mix everything thoroughly and form balls or patties which you fry until golden in oil. After frying let them drain on a paper towel. Serve the patties with baked potato or bread, or simply on their own with a dip.
Recipe for the dip
You will need:
- Cream 100 ml
- Garlic to taste
- Mustard 1 teaspoon
- Salt
- Pepper
- Parsley, chives or other green herbs
Preparation is simple. It’s enough to mash the garlic into the cream and mustard and chop the herbs to taste. Mix everything well and place on the patties. You can put this delicious dip into a small bowl and dip the patties into it while eating. The whole recipe is simple and quick. You can add other ingredients to taste. Feel free to add fried bacon or ham to the dough, you can also add zucchini or carrot. It only depends on your taste and the ingredients in the pantry. Enjoy your meal!
