A boy with a good heart had to write a punishment for giving food to his poor classmate. His mother then complained to the principal.
The boy had a poor classmate in his classroom who couldn’t even afford a snack
So he gave him some of his own. This humane and considerate behavior is not appreciated nowadays, but unfortunately not everyone is like that. The teachers saw only one side of the coin and made the boy write a punishment.
He simply felt sorry for him
When the bell rang for the big break, every pupil took a snack out of their bag and began to eat. But there was one student in the class who came from a very poor family. He had few clothes, was unkempt, and his school satchel was half torn. Sometimes there was so little money in the family that the boy didn’t even get food for his snack. He just watched hungrily as everyone ate. One of his classmates couldn’t stand it and gave him half of his lunch.
He was punished for a good intention
However, their homeroom teacher noticed and admonished the boy not to do it again. To make him remember, the teacher had him write as punishment 400 times “I will not feed a classmate”. The school has a rule that if you don’t bring a snack, you will stay hungry until lunch. She showed no consideration for the hungry boy.
The boy’s mother demanded an explanation
In the afternoon, when the boy came home from school, his mother wanted to see his workbook. When she noticed that the boy had written down this punishment in his notebook, she demanded an explanation for why he had written it. The boy told his mother what had happened in the class, and it made his mother very angry. She immediately wrote a complaint not only to the school principal but also on the internet to warn other parents and show them how the school treats poor and hungry children.
Sincere words in the letter
In the letter the mother mentions the selfishness and negligence of some school staff. “What kind of world do we live in where people have no compassion for a starving child, and even punish the innocent for helping him?”. The mother did not mince her words and many parents fully agreed with her. “The principal of this school should be ashamed of his staff’s behavior,” the mother wrote bluntly.
Reactions to her letter came very quickly, many people supported her complaint and even organized a collection for the poor family to at least partially help balance the budget. They admired the son for his behavior and congratulated his mother for raising such a good and selfless son who is dear to her heart. At the end of the letter it is also mentioned that the next day her son will give the poor boy a whole lunch, even at the cost of another punishment. “You can punish him however you want, but he will not give up his humanity,” she adds.
