Wet wipes are one of the most useful and practical things we can have at home. We can use them to clean all surfaces in any room. They are handy when you’re in a hurry and just want to wipe something quickly, but also when you’re cleaning every corner, crevice and slit in your apartment or house. Today I will show you how to make your own wet wipes at home, quickly, easily and cheaply.
Why make wipes at home?
Wet wipes are available in most stores, however quite often their price is disproportionate to their performance. They are not effective – they don’t clean, or they are even already dried out! Wipes are also in most cases soaked with chemicals that can be dangerous for your skin.
Homemade wipes are safer in this regard – you know exactly what you put into them, they are cheaper and you can be sure of their performance. So what will you need to make your own wet wipes?
- A roll of dry paper towels.
- 350 ml of water.
- 50 ml of pure, one-hundred-percent alcohol.
- A tablespoon of liquid cleaning detergent.
- An airtight container.
Procedure
Cut the roll of wipes in half and “stuff” one half into a container of your choice. Then mix the water, alcohol and cleaning agent. To this mixture you can also add, for example, lemon juice or other cleaning agents and additives, depending on what will suit you.
Pour the mixture of water and alcohol into the container with the wipes. They will absorb all the liquid they can in about five minutes, and you can pour out the excess. Carefully remove the cardboard tube from the center of the wipes that they were stuck to. Then let the wipes breathe without a lid for about an hour to two, however after this time you must not forget the lid – the wipes would dry out and you would have to repeat the process.
Wipes prepared and made this way can be used immediately for cleaning and your house will simply shine with cleanliness!
