The most insidious and most aggressive form of cancer? Pancreatic cancer! How important is prevention and who belongs to the risk group?

Pancreatic carcinoma is the second most common tumor of the digestive tract, right after colon cancer.

Statistics are therefore not very flattering. After all, it’s not surprising. Some risk factors for the development of pancreatic cancer unfortunately cannot be influenced. Its development is influenced by age, family predisposition and, essentially, sex. Experts say that pancreatic cancer is more common in men. It also depends on ethnicity and genetics. However, there are a number of other triggers that you can control. What should you definitely not underestimate?

Cigarette smoking

The risk of developing pancreatic cancer doubles if you are a smoker. In fact, it is said that one in four cases of pancreatic cancer is caused by cigarette smoking. The good news is that those who quit nicotine significantly reduce this risk.

Overweight

There are so many different serious health problems that can be associated with obesity — and one of them is pancreatic cancer. Statistics state that about 8% of all cancer cases, not just pancreatic cancer, have something to do with obesity. Losing weight is therefore very beneficial in many ways.

Poor eating habits

What you put into your mouth strongly determines your overall health. It’s no wonder people say “you are what you eat.” Is your daily diet made up of foods that contain a lot of fat and cholesterol? Do you love processed food products? If you answered “yes” twice, you belong to the risk group.

Switching to a healthy diet that consists of a large amount of fruits and vegetables can work wonders.

Think about it while there is still time.

Too much alcohol

Alcohol in small amounts can have a positive effect on human health, at least science says so. But what if you have one, two, three, four glasses every day? It affects not only your appearance, habits and psyche, but above all your health. Pancreatic cancer lurks for those who love alcohol. Do you belong to them?

Exposure to chemicals

Certain chemicals, according to scientific research, also contribute to the development of pancreatic cancer.

Pesticides, benzene and petrochemicals certainly belong to them. And reportedly some dyes are not innocent either. So there are indeed quite a few risks.
