French pastry dough is among the favorites. It’s easy to work with and you can create from it, for example, wonderful buns that no one can resist. If you try this dough, you’ll fall in love with it and will use it for baking very often.
French buns are perfect with tea or an afternoon coffee
For the French dough from which you’ll make great buns, you’ll need yeast, 200 g of raisins; for the pudding prepare 500 ml of milk, 100 g of sugar, 0.5 teaspoon of vanilla sugar, 1.5 tablespoons of flour and two eggs.
A day before, soak the raisins in cognac or liqueur and also thaw the puff pastry. Put the milk with vanilla sugar on the stove and meanwhile beat the eggs with sugar and add the flour. When the milk is about to boil, add 1/3 of it to the egg mixture in a thin stream – otherwise the eggs will curdle. Then return it to the boiling milk and, stirring constantly, cook for 5 – 7 minutes. Let the cream cool.
Prepare the puff pastry and put the pastries in to bake
Roll out the puff pastry and spread the cream on it with a spoon, for example. Sprinkle with raisins; you can also use almond slices or grated nuts; those who like sweet things can try chocolate chips. Roll the dough so that it forms a snail-shaped log and cut it with a sharp knife into slices about 2 cm thick.
Moisten the tip of the dough with water and stick it to the other end of the roll. Line a baking tray with parchment paper, place the rolls on it and flatten them slightly. Brush with egg yolk, let rest for 20 minutes and put into an oven preheated to 180 degrees. Bake for 20 – 25 minutes; after taking them out, pour over with sugar syrup. Prepare it by dissolving half a glass of water with the same amount of sugar and bringing it to a boil.
You can also use small pieces of fruit for the French buns or pastries, which can be fresh or canned. In this case you can try different variations while baking to please every member of the family.
