Headaches, or even migraines, are a problem for most people. These pains come especially when we least expect them and just when we don’t have the time. Because of that we often reach for various painkillers, whose safety is, however, questionable. It can happen that a person becomes dependent on them and there is also a risk of possible damage to the liver or other organs in the body.
When you have a headache, it is advisable to drink plenty of fluids and try to relax slightly.
This is not always possible, but acupressure can also help. The principle of acupressure is applying pressure with circular movements on acupressure points, thanks to which you will reduce and even completely remove the pain that troubles you. You should press the points for about 30 seconds to one minute and you should feel relief within 10 minutes.
To incorporate acupressure into your life you don’t need any special training. It just takes a bit of practice and finding the right points on the body. There are six acupressure points against headache whose stimulation can help relieve a headache without using various dangerous painkillers.
1. Yintang point:
This point is often also referred to as the third eye. It is located where the sixth chakra is, between the eyebrows at the root of the nose. Stimulate this point for headaches and also for eye fatigue.
2. Zan Zhu point:
You will find these points on the inner edge of both eyebrows. You can stimulate these points for headaches, but also for sinus problems. They help with mucus secretion from the sinuses and brighten vision.
3. Yingxiang point:
These points are located on both sides of the nose, in the depression between the jaw and the cheekbones.
If you are troubled by a headache, toothache, or stress, press these points with circular motions and you can expect relief within 10 minutes.
4. Tian Zhu point:
You will find the points under the hair. In the middle part of the nape, at the beginning of the cervical spine. With this point you can help with migraine, headaches, nasal congestion, ear pain, and also eye problems.
5. Shuai Gu point:
You will find these points on both sides above the ears, near the temples. The points are located in small dimples. Thanks to this point you will get rid of headaches and tired eyes.
