A very popular crop that is, of course, grown in our gardens is tomatoes. Some people get more, some less; it is, of course, often dependent on the current weather and garden conditions. However, we can often help with some special dose of something good. There is a whole range of interesting products that support the growth of tomatoes and other vegetables, but they often cost quite a bit. Instead, you can try a universal homemade solution that will help you achieve such a rich tomato harvest that you won’t know what to do with them.

Quality care is a prerequisite for a bountiful harvest

If you want to achieve a bountiful tomato harvest, you need to devote sufficient care and attention to their fertilization and watering. Simply put, for a rich harvest you must take good care of the tomatoes so they grow properly and correctly. Fertilization and watering are thus the main prerequisites for a good and abundant crop. However, the question remains how to fertilize correctly and what helps the most? Every gardener has their tried-and-true tips that either work wonderfully or they are still trying to improve.

Universal fertilizer

If you want to have a rich tomato harvest, you must know how not to overfertilize, how not to spoil growth, and which natural remedies are best. All of this is very important for a good tomato yield. For that reason we want to introduce you to a simple universal fertilizer that will guarantee the desired effect and lead you to an abundant harvest. You don’t have to be afraid of any complicated fertilizing or preparation. Even a complete gardening amateur who has never grown tomatoes before will manage everything.

Fertilize three times a year

So what is it actually about? At the beginning of June start fertilizing the tomatoes three times a year using a simple solution. This solution, i.e. substance, is obtained from ordinary baking soda. Dilute it with some water and mix well. Fertilizing with this solution is necessary to reduce soil acidity and prevents the occurrence of yellow leaves. Yellow leaves very often appear during July and August. By applying this solution you should prevent the yellowing of leaves, which is counterproductive for the crop.

1 liter per plant

It is also very important to know how to mix the correct ratio of this solution. Take 1 tablespoon of baking soda per 10 liters of water. Mix it well and pour into a sprayer or simply water with the solution. Each of your plants requires approximately 1 liter of this solution, so calculate how much you will specifically need.

Fertilize in the morning or evening

Baking soda protects the plant from pests, strengthens the plant and prevents yellowing of the leaves. You can also try smaller doses, where it is enough to take one teaspoon of baking soda per 2 liters of water. Again, mix and spray the solution over the plant. Fertilize always in the morning or evening when the tomatoes are not exposed to direct sunlight. Otherwise, leaves could be burned and the plant irreversibly damaged, which is certainly a very well-known rule.
