There is probably not a single household in which there has never been an orchid. It is one of the most popular houseplants, but not everyone knows how to care for it properly. Many of you write to us that your orchid bloomed lavishly only once – when you brought it home from the store. And that is a great pity. I will advise you on an excellent soak that will make your orchid bloom literally like it’s on batteries. Although I didn’t believe it, I tried it and it worked – within a month it bloomed like never before. However, you must follow the exact procedure!

Trick for a non-flowering orchid

So prepare this simple solution, which contains a large amount of important nutrients. Thanks to it, the orchid will literally be covered in flowers.

we need:

1 liter of water

3 cloves of garlic

The most important part is the application – do it exactly like this!

Really, so little is enough. You only need these 2 ingredients . Pour the water into a pot and bring it to a boil. Then remove it from the heat and let it cool. After it cools, stir the crushed garlic cloves into the water and let it stand for one day. Then strain this water into a shallow, wide container. Place the orchid in its pot into this container so that the water reaches only about 1-2 cm above the bottom edge of the pot. The water should “lick” the roots.

Leave the orchid submerged like this for about half an hour and then remove it from the bowl, let it drain and place it where there is plenty of sunlight. Do not use the prepared water as irrigation! The important thing is, that the nutrients are absorbed only by the plant’s roots.

This trick is recommended to be used once a month, and after 2 months you should observe the first buds. You can also add one tablet of succinic acid to this solution (available at pharmacies), which is enough to dissolve in the water. According to research, succinic acid is effective against pests, molds, and the like. And moreover, it helps the plant to root. The results should be visible already after 10 days from using this homemade fertilizer.

Choose the right spot and give it soft light

It is important to choose the right place for an orchid. If you have a north-facing room, put it directly on the windowsill. Conversely, in south- or west-facing rooms it is important that the plant is not exposed to direct sunlight. The most suitable places are rooms facing east, where only the morning sun reaches the plants. Don’t forget that the orchid loves soft light.
