Fantastic currant jam
We need:
- 1 kg black currants
- 1 kg sugar
- 100 ml rum
Method:
Blend the washed and stemmed currants with an immersion blender (or grind them in a mill)
- Add the sugar and rum. Mix well; it will be a thick mass (the sugar won’t dissolve properly yet).
- Place in the refrigerator for about 12–24 hours.
- After taking it out, stir again, the sugar will dissolve, and pour into small jars that have been sterilized (I usually disinfect the lid with alcohol).
- We mainly use the jam on pancakes or just on bread; it’s pleasant and almost effortless. Store in a cool place.
