If you’re not a fan of mayonnaise and the thick dressings made from it, then you’re in the right place. Today we’ll share a recipe for a healthy and incredibly delicious Italian dressing. Its aroma and freshness will feel like a breath of summer breeze.

Ingredients

To make this dressing you will need 10 ingredients:

  • 2-3 cloves of garlic (to taste)
  • 5 g chili peppers (or less, again to taste)
  • 20 g Parmesan
  • 20 ml lemon juice
  • a tablespoon of honey
  • half a teaspoon of dried basil
  • half a teaspoon of dried oregano
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil (you can also use herb-infused oil)

How to make it

First, prepare all the ingredients so you have them at hand.

The first step will be peeling the garlic, which should then be chopped very finely; a very sharp knife works best. Next, slice the chili peppers, adding them to the dressing according to your taste — this can produce a very spicy flavor depending on the amount used. Then grate the Parmesan using a fine grater. Prepare the lemon juice fresh, from a freshly squeezed lemon. As a measure you can use, for example, a small shot glass. Choose honey preferably homemade from a beekeeper — that’s the best, and you can be sure it hasn’t been sweetened with sugar.

Mix the garlic, chili, Parmesan, lemon juice and honey together. Then add the basil and oregano. Season with pepper and salt to taste. Finally, add the olive oil; you can also use herb-flavored oil, which you can easily make at home.

Thoroughly mix all the ingredients, preferably with a whisk attachment on a mixer, so the dressing is really smooth.

Where to use it

This dressing is great, for example, with tortillas. You can either spread it directly on the tortilla or mix it into fresh vegetables and add it to a meat mixture. It is also suitable for vegetable salads, giving them a completely different dimension of flavor — aromatic and piquant.
